  • Your contract explained

We go through the contract with you before you sign: pay, hours, days off, accommodation and how to end it.

  • Documents, medical and visa

A checklist for your job and help with every step. See documents and visas.

Get these ready early

Documents are the most common cause of delay. Start now, even before you apply.

  • A passport valid for at least two years (apply or renew on eCitizen)
  • Your national ID
  • A certificate of good conduct from the DCI (apply on eCitizen)
  • A CV of two pages at most
  • Copies of certificates and reference letters
  • A professional licence, if your job needs one

What you pay

For employer-paid roles, Urban Careers charges you nothing: not to apply, not to be shortlisted, not to travel.

You pay official costs yourself, such as your passport, certificate of good conduct and, on some jobs, the medical. Each job lists them with amounts before you apply.

Pay government fees directly on eCitizen and keep the receipt. Never pay cash or M-Pesa to anyone for a job.

What we will and won’t promise

  • No agency can guarantee a visa. The destination country decides.
  • If a job isn’t right for you, we tell you before you spend money on documents.
  • We never ask you to pay to “secure” a job.
